“Keep calm and wear a bra that fits” ~ Unknown
There are more than 40 individual pieces that go into each bra. That’s an incredible amount of work for an article that is worn every day and designed to last approximately one year (dependent on use and care). Over time, the support it is designed to give diminishes. The only thing worse than putting on a bra that doesn’t fit is adjusting that bra throughout the day. Once you’ve got your sizing identified, we carry band sizes 30-46 and cup sizes A-J, the fun part begins. No longer do you have one bra that carries you through all your days. There are T-Shirt bras, Lace bras, Sports bras, Strapless, Bustier, Nursing. Each is designed to support your specific fashion and use needs.
We feel very strongly that a professional bra fitting is absolutely imperative for everyone. Because of this, we do not sell bras online here from our website. If you are an existing customer, please give us a call and we will be glad to help you. If you are a new customer and not able to come in for a professional bra fitting, let’s talk about a virtual fitting. You can call us directly or sign up under Complimentary Bra Fitting on the top right navigation. The information provided below is to help educate you on the most popular styles of bras and their functions.
- Nursing Bras
“I make milk. What’s your superpower?”
Wearing the correct size bra is essential to aid in breastfeeding. Wearing an underwire gives good support, however, wearing the wrong size bra will cause your milk ducts to clog and can lead to mastitis. For women planning on nursing, we encourage new mothers to be measured after your milk has come in. It’s amazing how the body – and your sizing – can change after your milk comes in.
- Sports Bras
“Fall in love with taking care of your body.”
A quality sports bra is tailored to the intensity of your workouts, encapsulating your breast and tight enough in the band to keep you supported and firmly in place. Breasts are supported by Cooper’s Ligaments which are connective tissue that helps maintain the breast’s structure. During strenuous exercise, an ill-fitting sports bra can not only be painful and contribute to discomfort, but can also cause irreversible damage to those ligaments and the skin of the breast.
- Balcony
“Friends are the support bras of life.”
Also known as a balconette bra, the balcony bra offers good coverage but has less “all-over” coverage than a full cup bra. It offers great support in creating an uplifted, rounded shape that works well for a full range of breast sizes and shapes. It also works well under clothing with a lower cut neckline.
- Bralette
“Fashion is what you buy. Style is what you do with it.”
This lightweight bra has no underwire, no padding, and is all about comfort, not support. You’ll also see bralettes that are designed more as a crop top worn as outerwear tops. They work best for smaller breasted sizes.
- Bustier
“A great figure or physique is nice, but it’s self-confidence that makes someone sexy.”
A workhorse life few others, this piece provides lift and support while also shaping your waist and smoothing your mid-section. It’s can also be a beautiful piece to be worn alone as a fashion top. The options are limitless!
- Contured
“It’s not about what size you wear. It’s about how you wear your size.”
This fully padded cup bra is almost always molded and usually has an underwire for support. Additional support seaming may or may not be included. The padding functions to shape your bust, not increase the volume of your breasts. It also provides a completely symmetrical look. Very few women have the same size breasts.
- Demi
“Lingerie is the maximum expression of a woman’s femininity.”
A demi cup bra only covers about half of the breast. The top part of the breast is exposed which provides the option of reveal or conceal. They are low cut across the whole cup and may have the look of a push-up bra. It is actually not as heavily lined as a normal push-up, giving a more natural look.
- Full Cup
“Good things don’t always come in small packages.”
A full cup bra covers the entire breast and can be ideal for women who wear large cup sizes and wish to minimize the size of the bust or for those who prefer to reduce cleavage. This bra also provides greater comfort due to the coverage and support.
- Push up
“It’s not about seducing men, it’s about embracing womanhood.”
A push-up bra is designed to lift the breasts up and towards the center of the chest enhancing your cleavage. With closely fitted wires and comfortable padding, this is an excellent resource for smaller-breasted women wanting to show more cleavage.
- Strapless
“Lingerie isn’t about seduction, it’s about being a woman.”
A strapless bra is designed to be worn with no shoulder straps. They include features like silicone or rubber lining to help hold it in place along with moulded cups, boning inserts on the sides to help hold the structure, and underwire for extra support.
- T-Shirt Bra
“Beautiful is where dressing begins.”
The key components of a T-Shirt bra are seamless, invisible, and smooth moulded cups that provide a rounded shape under close-fitting shirts, tops, and dresses. Invisible and smooth does not mean plain. Ask us about all the options available for the perfect t-shirt bra.
- Wire Free
“Beautiful begins underneath.”
True to its name, a non-underwire bra doesn’t have wiring. The band of the bra provides the support. These usually work better for smaller breasted women. Non-underwire bras do not give the same lift, support and separation as an underwire bra. What they lack in shape, they make up for in comfort.
